How does payment work?

Tutoring is paid via a monthly subscription. The total cost of your child’s yearly tuition is spread evenly across 12 months, so your payment stays the same each month. This secures your child’s place in their group and makes budgeting simple and predictable.

Do lessons run during school holidays?

Weekly group sessions run during school term time.

Plus+ and Premium packages include access to Holiday Sessions, which run during school holidays (including Summer) These optional online sessions allow children to ask questions, practise tricky topics, or get extra support at no additional cost.

Premium package also receive a personalised 1:1 session during each main school holiday (October, February, Easter, May and Summer).

What are the Holiday Sessions?

Holiday Sessions are optional online support sessions available during school holidays. Children can join at any point during the session to ask questions, revisit tricky topics, or get extra help in a relaxed and flexible setting.

How long is each tutoring session?

Each session is 60 minutes, which is ideal for maintaining concentration and making meaningful progress.

Included, is a short window built in at the start for logging on and settling, and at the end for finishing tasks or answering final questions. Overall, sessions comfortably fit within an hour.

What age groups do you tutor?

I specialise in Upper Key Stage 2, supporting children preparing for SATs and the transition to secondary school.

If your child is in Year 5 and you’re considering Year 6-style support, please get in touch so we can discuss the most suitable option.

How many children are in each group?

Each group has a maximum of 5 children.
This ensures every child receives individual attention while also benefiting from discussion, shared thinking, and collaborative learning.

Do you offer one-to-one tutoring?

Regular weekly sessions are delivered in small groups.

Premium children receive 1:1 personalised sessions during school holidays, allowing time to target individual gaps, build confidence, or prepare for upcoming assessments.

What happens if my child misses a session?

If your child misses a session, you may request a recording of the session, so they can catch up in their own time.

Missed sessions are non-refundable, similar to other extracurricular activities. However, children are always welcome to attend Holiday Sessions.

Can my child join after the academic year has started?

Yes. If a suitable space is available, children are welcome to join after the start of the academic year.
When joining part way through a month, the first payment will be pro-rated to reflect the remaining sessions, before moving onto the standard monthly payment cycle.

All other programme terms, including annual structure and notice periods, apply as normal.

Can I pause my subscription during holidays?

No. Enrolment is for a full academic-year programme, with payments spread evenly across the year to keep billing consistent and to secure your child’s place in their group. This approach supports continuity and allows sessions and holiday support to be planned reliably for all families.

What if I want to cancel during the academic year?

Cancellations during the academic year require one full calendar month’s notice and cannot be backdated. This helps keep groups stable and allows sessions to be planned fairly for all families.

What happens at the end of the academic year?
Tutoring places do not automatically roll over into the next academic year.
Towards the end of the year, families will be contacted and invited to confirm whether they would like to continue for the following year. If we don’t hear from you by the stated deadline, your child’s place will simply conclude at the end of the academic programme. This helps us plan groups and availability for the new academic year fairly and effectively.

How do online tutoring sessions work?

Sessions take place via a secure online platform. Children join live lessons using a link and take part through discussion, guided practice, and a virtual whiteboard.

Lessons are interactive and engaging, with opportunities for questions, explanation, and immediate feedback.

Do you offer trial sessions?

I don’t currently offer trial sessions. However, if you are not satisfied after the first session, please contact me within 24 hours and I will provide a full refund.

Do you use concrete resources in lessons?

In Upper Key Stage 2, children typically move away from concrete resources, as these are not permitted in SATs.

Lessons focus on pictorial and abstract methods, helping children develop strong conceptual understanding and independent problem-solving skills that align with exam expectations.

Does the Premium package include WhatsApp support?

Yes. if you have the premium package, you have access to WhatsApp messaging for questions about lessons, homework, or resources. Messages can be sent at any time, with replies provided Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm. This support is intended for quick clarifications rather than full tutoring.

How do I book sessions?

Once you’ve completed the enquiry form, a payment link will be sent to you. Payments are made in advance to secure a place. After enrolment, your child is assigned to their weekly small-group session automatically. Holiday Sessions and any 1:1 sessions are scheduled and communicated in advance.

Do you offer discounts for longer commitments?

In some cases, families who are happy to commit for the full academic year may choose to pay upfront at a reduced rate.

This option isn’t advertised as standard, as most families prefer monthly payments. If you’re confident you’d like a place for the full year, feel free to get in touch and we can talk it through.

Do you offer any other subjects besides maths?

At the moment, my main focus is maths for Years 5 and 6, where I can deliver the highest quality teaching and support.

That said, I have vast experience teaching other subjects such as SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) and Reading. If you’re interested in support outside of maths, you’re very welcome to contact me.

If there is enough interest, I may look to open additional small-group sessions in the future.

How can I contact you if I have further questions?

You can get in touch via the contact form or by email. I aim to respond within 24 hours, Monday to Friday.
