Online Learning & Technology Policy
Mr C’s Tutoring Hub
This policy outlines the expectations and requirements for taking part in online tutoring sessions at Mr C’s Tutoring Hub. It is designed to ensure sessions run smoothly, safely, and effectively for all students.
1. Online Delivery
All tutoring sessions are delivered online using a secure learning platform. Sessions may include live teaching, discussion, shared activities, and independent practice.
Links to sessions will be provided in advance and should not be shared with anyone outside the enrolled group.
2. Technical Requirements
To take part in sessions, students will need:
-
a suitable device (laptop, desktop, or tablet)
-
a stable internet connection
-
working audio (microphone or speakers)
Parents or carers are responsible for ensuring their child can access sessions successfully.
Mr C’s Tutoring Hub cannot be held responsible for technical issues on the student’s side, including internet connectivity, device problems, or software issues.
3. Learning Environment
Students should join sessions from:
-
a quiet, suitable space
-
an environment with minimal distractions
This helps children concentrate and ensures sessions are fair and productive for all group members.
4. Camera, Microphone, and Chat Use
-
Students may be asked to mute or unmute microphones as needed
-
Cameras may be used where appropriate but are not required at all times
-
Chat functions should be used appropriately and for learning purposes only
Misuse of these features will be managed in line with the Behaviour Policy.
5. Online Conduct
Students are expected to:
-
behave respectfully at all times
-
follow instructions given by the tutor
-
engage positively with learning activities
Any inappropriate behaviour during online sessions will be addressed promptly and may result in removal from a session, in line with the Behaviour Policy.
6. Recordings
Short, anonymised snippets of recordings may be used for marketing or social media. These will never include:
-
children’s faces
-
names
-
voices
-
any identifying information
Any use of identifiable recordings would only occur with explicit written parental consent.
7. Parental Support
Parents and carers are encouraged to:
-
ensure children join sessions on time
-
support appropriate online behaviour
-
be available nearby if needed, particularly for younger children
However, parents are not expected to remain present during sessions unless required.
