Safeguarding Policy
Mr C’s Tutoring Hub
Mr C’s Tutoring Hub is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We recognise our responsibility to create a safe, supportive, and respectful learning environment for all students taking part in our tutoring sessions.
This policy outlines how safeguarding is approached within our online tutoring provision.
1. Safeguarding Commitment
We believe that:
-
every child has the right to feel safe and protected
-
safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility
-
concerns must be taken seriously and acted upon promptly
Safeguarding underpins all aspects of our tutoring services.
2. Safer Working Practices
To ensure a safe learning environment:
-
all tutoring sessions are delivered online in group settings
-
communication with students is professional and appropriate at all times
-
one-to-one sessions (where applicable) are conducted transparently and professionally
-
parents or carers remain responsible for their child’s supervision outside of sessions
3. DBS and Suitability
The tutor at Mr C’s Tutoring Hub holds an Enhanced DBS certificate, which is kept up to date.
Safeguarding knowledge and good practice are maintained and reviewed regularly.
4. Online Safety
We take online safety seriously and ensure:
-
sessions are accessed via secure links
-
students are expected to behave respectfully online
-
inappropriate use of chat, camera, or microphone features is addressed immediately
Parents are encouraged to support online safety by ensuring children join sessions from a suitable environment.
5. Use of Recordings
Sessions may occasionally be recorded for safeguarding, training, or quality assurance purposes.
Any use of recording snippets for marketing or promotional purposes will:
-
be anonymised
-
exclude faces, names, voices, and identifying information
Identifiable recordings would only ever be used with explicit written parental consent.
6. Recognising Safeguarding Concerns
Safeguarding concerns may include:
-
disclosures made by a child
-
signs of distress, harm, or neglect
-
inappropriate behaviour or communication
All concerns are taken seriously.
7. Responding to Safeguarding Concerns
If a safeguarding concern arises:
-
the concern will be recorded factually
-
appropriate advice or guidance will be sought
-
concerns may be shared with relevant authorities where required
Mr C’s Tutoring Hub will always act in the best interests of the child.
8. Confidentiality and Information Sharing
Information related to safeguarding concerns will be:
-
handled sensitively
-
shared only with those who need to know
